When I was in a major depression for almost a year, I had a depression beard too. It was definitely a “hobo” beard like yours. (Love that- hilaaaaarious.) Now, with the manic-depression, it’s a close cropped beard. (Sometimes the scissors get just a little too close.)

I am starting to get more comments about it. What I amazed with is how similar we reacted to depression and it just reminds me I am not alone in this struggle, no matter how hard I try to convince myself otherwise.
I am also glad to hear that you still have your beard! Beards are amazing, they have so much power and mystique
